Optimize PDF
The Optimize PDF tab is used to optimize PDF documents and reduce file
size. The tab allows the user to set options regarding the optimizations
and then allows for routing of the output file after optionally changing
its name. The tab has the following sections:
- Color Images, Grayscale Images, Black & White Images -
Use these sections to set options regarding the optimization of color,
grayscale and black and white images found in each PDF. Each section
has the following options:
- Compression - The target compression for the optimized
image: JPEG, JPEG2000, FLATE, JBIG2 or No Change.
- Color Space- The target color space for the optimized image:
Gray, Black & White or No Change.
- JPEG Quality - Specify the JPEG quality from 1 to 10 (only
available if the compression chosen is JPEG or JPEG2000).
- DPI Resolution - The target Dots Per Inch Resolution for
the optimized image. This will downsize the resolution of all
images with a resolution higher than the one selected.
- Fast Web View Click Convert to Fast Web View to linearize
the PDF file.
- Object Removal - Choose which unnecessary objects to remove:
- Alternate Images - Removes alternate embedded image dictionaries
that are used for high resolution printing
- Bookmarks- Removes all bookmarks from the PDF document
- Document Info - Removes any document information that
would include Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Producer
- JavaScript Actions - This will remove all JavaScript actions
from the PDF document.
- Embedded Thumbnails - Removes page thumbnails that are
stored in the PDF document.
- Unused Resources -Removes resources that are located within
the document but are never referenced by any objects in the PDF
document.
- Comments - Removes all annotations and comments from the
PDF document
- Links - Removes all links from the PDF document
- Attachments - Removes any attachments that are stored
within the document
- Form Fields - Removes all form fields that are on the
PDF document
- Metadata - Removes all additional or extra Metadata from
the PDF document
- Other - Choose additional optimization options:
- Flatten All Comments - Flattens all annotations including
text boxes, shapes, highlights, and paint them directly to the
document content.
- Flatten All Fields - Flattens all fields including text
boxes, check boxes, radio buttons, combo boxes, list boxes, buttons,
& signature fields directly onto the document and paint them
directly into the document conta All values within the fields
will be flattened as well.
- Merge Duplicate Images - Removes any document information
that would include Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Producer.
- Merge Duplicate Fonts - This will remove all JavaScript
actions from the PDF document.
- FLATE Uncompressed Streams - Removes resources that are
located within the document but are never referenced by any objects
in the PDF document.
- Clear Signatures - Removes all signatures that are on
the PDF Document but will leave the signature field.
- Print the PDF File - Use this section to print the PDF file
as part of processing it.
- Change the File Name - Use this section to change the name
of the PDF file before saving.
- Save the File to a Folder - Use this section to save the file
to a folder after setting the permissions.
- Post the File using FTP - Use this section to send the file
to an FTP server after setting the permissions.
- Send the File in an E-Mail - Use this section to send the
file by e-mail after setting the permissions.
